Meet our “Artist of the Week” Ruchi Sharma (@ruchi_indianart). She’s a talented and self-taught artist who creates beautiful Traditional Indian Art. She has an amazing style and creates mesmerizing art.
Tell us about yourself and your work
Hi, my name is Ruchi Sharma. I am an Indian artist. Most of the artwork is based on traditional Indian Art. I specialize in Madhubani, Kalamkari, Mandalas, and more of such folk arts practised in India. I have recently begun my career in this beautiful world of art.
How did you find out about the tree-free paper that Bluecatpaper makes?
Actually, I mostly work on Traditional Indian Art on handmade paper with natural inks. That’s when I thought about using Tree free paper. I researched and stumbled upon your unique website. I instantly fell in love.
How does Bluecat Paper make your work unique?
My most of the artworks are done on handmade paper so that’s what makes them unique. I am following my passion without hampering mother nature and doing my bit to save her.
What’s your process like while working on Bluecat Paper’s product?
I love working on BlueCat papers. The natural texture and thickness is something which I simply adore. The colours don’t bleed or imprint on the backside of the paper which is the best thing.

What advice do you have for artists starting with Bluecat Paper?
I would say do not limit yourself. This paper has a lot to offer. It handles water like a champ. Inks are spread beautifully when used on Bluecat papers. It’s all in one package. I have tried poster Colors, crayons, oil pastels, watercolours and they work like magic on BlueCat papers. I vouch for its texture and thickness. I simply love it and I am sure the other artists like me will surely too.
Do you have a favourite project or piece?
