Denim is one of the most highly polluting products from the garment industry and a major component of landfills. We prioritised the development of the rich blue denim paper.

Denim Paper – Smooth and Tree-Free

Denim paper is made from pre-consumer denim waste — the leftover fabric from textile production. It is a smooth, strong, tree-free paper made entirely without wood pulp.

At Bluecat Paper LLP, we collect clean, unused denim scraps from garment factories. These are rich in cotton fiber and ideal for papermaking. We remove any synthetic content, pulp the pure cotton, and turn it into high-quality paper sheets using a water-efficient, chemical-free process.

What Is Denim Paper Used For?

Denim paper works well for:

  • Notebooks and journals

  • Luxury stationery

  • Premium packaging

  • Hangtags and labels

  • Art and design applications

Its smooth surface makes it easy to write on, print on, and handle. The natural denim tone gives it a subtle, distinctive appearance — no added dyes or bleach.

How We Make Denim Paper

  1. We collect pre-consumer denim offcuts from textile units.

  2. We remove polyester threads and other synthetic elements.

  3. We pulp the cotton-rich fabric.

  4. We form, press, and dry the sheets — with no added chemicals.

This is true tree-free paper, made responsibly from clean industrial waste.

Why Use Denim Paper?

  • Uses pre-consumer textile waste

  • 100% free of wood pulp

  • Smooth, clean, and durable

  • Compostable and recyclable

  • Supports waste reduction and circular production

Denim paper is a practical and sustainable alternative to traditional paper. It keeps fabric out of landfills and trees in the ground.

The earliest forms of denim cloth (like serge de Nîmes) were used in Europe as early as the 1600s. Turning fabric into paper is not new — it’s a revival of old-world practices before wood pulp became the norm.
